Man sues New Hanover's school board over mask mandate. Who is he, why is he taking legal action?
David Perry said he always complied with wearing masks in public after the COVID-19 pandemic began, and got his vaccine soon after becoming eligible in May. Now, he’s suing the New Hanover County Board of Education for continuing to require masks and refusing to allow patrons to enter without a face covering.

New Hanover County Commissioners approve $457 million budget
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to raise property taxes in the county. While some of the new revenue is budgeted for teacher pay increases, they also gave themselves a raise. Republican Bill Rivenbark sided with Democrats Julia Olson-Boseman and Jonathan Barfield to pass the measure.
